Hi! I’m Dan White. Thanks for stopping by. I have spent the majority of my life in the midwest and I would like to create a page relevant to our region’s wargaming hobby.
My current wargaming passion is Guild Ball. I love the back and forth flow of the game, the gritty fluff and the highly competitive tournament scene.
I have played in the past Warmachine (Menoth, Minions & CoC), X-Wing (Imperials), Infinity (Haqqislam) and Bloodbowl (Ogres). I’ve assembled some AoS (Spiderfang Mob) and 40k Orks but have yet to play a game in either. I hope to one day join the horde of 40k fans.
Hi, I’m JD Haigler. Sometimes known as JediAnakinSolo. I picked up wargaming gradually over a couple of years of piecing together a Space Marines army, but really picked it up once I moved to the Omaha area where there was a ton of support for it. I’ve sinced moved on through a few other games, including Horus Heresy and Warmachine and am now an avid Guildballer though I’ve since moved to Arkansas. I’m probably equally a hobbyist, and count miniature painting as probably my favorite hobby currently, so when I’m not writing rants about the Brewers, I’m putting together hobby articles. Outside of tabletop wargaming, I’m something of an accidental outdoors guy, where I enjoy hunting, hiking, carpentry and other various hands on hobbies. The hiking is really just an excuse to collect basing materials for my armies though, so don’t be fooled.”
Hi, I’m Francesc but you may know me as Flynnt on the forums. I’m a math appassionado and I’ve started doing probabilities and tables on Guildball. My home team is the Morticians. I am currently the King of Midwest Wargaming.
Hey all, my name is Buck but I go by Alpharion on the board. I’m a veterinarian who currently resides in Oklahoma. I picked up wargaming back in veterinary school. Since then I’ve enjoyed sharing my enthusiasm for this hobby with anyone who cares to listen. I look forward to sharing any, and everything, GW with you all.
Hello, I’m Joseph and I go by Eldmor on forums and “the socials”. I started playing Malifaux in September 2014 and I’ve been hooked since. I’m a Henchman, so I am always helping new players, testing new things, and running events.
My home faction is Arcanists but I dabble in almost everything. I love assembling the miniatures and I’m fairly mediocre at painting.
Howdy! I’m Derek, often known as Ergonomic Cat, or occasionally Wookiee. I’m a father of 3, husband of 1, gamer of all stripes, geek and abuser of parentheses. I’m a Texan who’s found himself living in the frozen wilderness of Wisconsin for 10+ years now, and I’m still a bit confused by that.
I play whatever is out there. I’m also a serial magpie, picking up new games. I’m formerly an X-Wing devotee and occasional Warmahordes (Legion and Grymkin) player who has a Guild Ball team (Hunters actively and former Union) but am currently primarily focused on Malifaux (Neverborn) and being a Henchman for SW Wisconsin/SE Minnesota, and trying to become a semi-competitve Shadespire. I’m dabbling in Gaslands and, much to chagrin, Age of Sigmar. When I’m not playing miniatures games I play various card games (mostly FFG LCGs and CCGs) – right now I’m playing the Arkham Horror LCG (primarily solo), spending a fair amount of time rolling dice in Star Wars Destiny, and trying to figure out how exactly I can take the Phoenix to glory in the new Legend of the Five Rings. I played a good chunk of Netrunner back before the Mumbad cycle, and I’m slowly getting back in with the Revised Core, and I dabbled in GoT v2 with Elder Scrolls Legends tossed in on the digital side. I occasionally play board games, and I play a pretty wide spread of video games too – RPGs, MOBAs, team shooters, Turn Based Strategy, etc.
Basically I have commitment issues.
Greetings comrade! Kyle Randolph’s the name and Infinity’s the game! My handle here is Pride of Rodina.
I’ve been playing wargames since 2006 when I started playing Warhammer 40,000 with my glorious Tau army and later in 2010 started working on a small Eldar army too. In 2013 I picked up Infinity and I’ve never looked back! I started with Ariadna and only playing with Kazaks first (the Russians) and then I moved on to including Haqqislam, Hassassins, Tohaa, USARF (USAriadna, as I like to call them) JSA, Bakunin and a smithering of Tunguska Nomads. I love painting, theory-crafting, army building, tactics analysis, hobbying with models and playing in tournaments (got to love those ITS exclusive modesl); in other words all things Infinity!
P.S. if you really like my posts and want more Infinity coverage from yours truly, come check out my personal blog at http://prideofrodina.blogspot.com/ !
Greetings! I’m Blake and my handle for anything gaming related is Hoppydapunk. I’m an IT Systems Administrator residing in Indiana. I play a variety of PC games in addition to devoting my wargaming time to Circle Orboros. I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences as a Blackclad.
Hey this Elias Thury, also known as Commander_nightflier on forums everywhere. Warmachine player who turned from GW I play Retribution along with a dabble in Legion and Cygnar. I also enjoy X-wing playing primarally Rebels with a dabble in scum and Imperials. I used to play Tau and Space Marines (Raven Guard) back before I got into highschool. I also enjoy Pokemon and am currently starting to play some Magic the Gathering
I am TheGreatSerpent.
You can also call me Alex. I’m “A reformed Warhammer Fantasy player based in the Twin Cities who plays Malifaux, Guild Ball, X-Wing, and Armada. I’m also the Host of the upcoming Malifaux Tactics podcast here at Midwest Wargaming: “Lecture Notes from the Breach”
My name is Tyler Herrick I’m Lurch on most miniatures forums. I’m from south east Iowa and I game in Ottumwa. I have been playing miniature games since 1999 and started with Warhammer 40k 3rd edition. From there I graduated to other games like Warmachine & Hordes, Flames of War, Warhammer Fantasy, Wraith of Kings, MERCS, Guildball, Infinity, Arena Rex, Dark Age, Wild West Exodus, Drop Zone Commander, Batman Miniatures, Marvel Miniatures, Anima Tactics, Firestorm Armada, Bolt Action, Relic Knights, Malifaux, and probably some that I’ve missed. My nerd cave is cluttered with relics from years past and my painting table is filled with current infatuations. I look forward to sharing with you my current favorites and revisiting some games that have sat on my shelves for far too long. I enjoy the hobby aspect of all the games and going to tournaments when I can. See you on the forums!
Hello! My name is Micah Walker, also known as Vyngynce on the interwebs. I come from a family of cutthroat board gamers that used to all live in the area. Eventually, they moved farther away, and I found myself in need of a new hobby and community. Some guys at work introduced me to Warmachine, right around the start of MK3. Given my competitive blood and my penchant for analysis, I quickly learned the game well enough to start teaching others. I currently run most of the Steamroller events for the Eastern Iowa meta, and I have been known to play some Dark Eldar in 40K, Imperials in X-Wing, and Blacksmiths or Masons in Guild Ball. One of my personal goals (to my wife’s chagrin) is to own an painted army in every mini game out there. Oh yeah, I also paint! I am one of those guys who tries to play fully painted, and I love promoting that side of the hobby as well. Let’s keep those dice rolling!
